But when she is kidnapped from that compound, Johanna finds her silence difficult to maintain. This book was awesome. It's one of those books you just can't put down because you HAVE to know what's going to happen next. And with this book you never knew what was coming. There are so many secrets and twists and turns, the author has you guessing the entire book. I loved all the characters but mainly Hanna, she was such a fighter and I love that in a character. I also loved how the author wrote the book in different perspectives. I think it added to the anticipation of what was to come and it tied everyone together nicely. The story itself was superb. I won't get into it, I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Now, lets talk about that ending! It was perfection and it was sunshine, I couldn't stop smiling.(eeeek) Just go buy the book, its .99cents for your kindle, a great deal!! :DProduct details

Hanna Hanna OneandTwo Myndi Shafer Julie Mason 9781495371011 Books Reviews
Although this book was not my usual genre of thriller/suspense, it was very good. My take was that it was a mixture of sci-fi, thriller/suspense, and romance. My son is her cousin, so I read it to see what it was about. I'm glad I did. I might even read the first 2 books she wrote, although he tells me they are more sci-fi. Great job Myndi!
The best word I can use to describe this story is haunting. For some reason, it haunted me long after I finished reading it. In a good way. I loved the world building, and the playing with time/planes of existence. The idea that the world resets, over and over and over...just very cool. If you like fantasy/sci fi/dystopian/speculative fiction, give this a try. This is not YA to me, but there's no sex or anything objectionable for the older young audience.
I fell in love with Myndi in her Shrilugh series (if you have not read it go get it!!) This book went an entirely different direction but with the same incredible author guiding us along. Loved loved loved it! Looking forward to much more from her!
Myndi Shafer is a wizardress with words. After enjoying Shrilough 1 & 2, thought I'd see what else she's written. Hanna, Hanna is right up there with her later two books. This YA futuristic fantasy doesn't waste time explaining the unexplainable (how exactly do they re-set time?), but dives right into the adventures of a young woman fated to -- well, won't spoil the surprise. Fast moving and a lot of fun, with a light touch of social commentary that hits home.
Hanna, Hanna was one of those books that you don't want to end and yet, to be honest, the ending was the best part. Shafer's deep characters and great pacing kept me reading late into the night. I couldn't put the book down, wanting to know what was going to happen next. I even found myself wondering about the book while I was doing other things (like trying to work), coming up with ideas for what I thought might happen next. The story, however, surprised me at every turn. Hanna, Hanna is a fresh, unique novel that you won't want to put down.
There are so many books that I adore and would read over and over again. I fall in love with the characters or their purpose. But it often takes me time to fall in love with them. I commit to the first few chapters regardless because I know this is how I work. Not so with this book - I was all in from the first page. The storyline was so unique, the plight of this young girl so captivating that I had to know more about it. I was already asking dozens of questions in my head...that's what keeps you reading. THAT'S exceptional writing. Great read. You won't be disappointed. And I'd take that bet in Vegas. )
Myndi Shafer's dystopian novel, Hanna, Hanna, One-and-Two, is a rarity among books it is both fast-paced and exquisitely written, something that you want to slow down for in order to savor the characters - their emotions, their allegiances, their heart-rending choices - and yet, you can't help but whiz through page after page, eager to find out what happens next. In between reading sessions, I would find myself unwittingly drifting back to the world of that story - it felt that concrete to me. And now that I've finished the book, I still linger in the world of the eating mists, and marvel at the oh-so-satisfying resolution.
For those of you who may not typically consider a book of this genre Get It! I don't read very much dystopian fiction, but I absolutely loved it. I think it transcends the confines of genre.
